40 plus years old
wailing on that damn guitar
heavy metal hell

bleach blond two hundred
your primal scream rocks my ass
keep fuckin' rockin'

I lucked out walking
inadvertently on you
performing hard rock

that bald headbanger
plays lead guitar in a hot
heavy metal band

make the feedback roar
ramp up the speed metal rhythm
this is meant to be

Her Cherry Ride
That Impala is
powder blue, rusted, roaring
revolts and protests.

Her cherry ride with
hair clipped back and eight track snapped
leans into the curves

Air conditioning
is for wimps. I like to feel
the wind on my face.

Sunny day, eighty
degrees and eighty miles stretch
between me and love.

Parked at the water
he is embarrassed and won't
go any farther.

Freedom is faster
than my Chevy Impala
but I still love it.

Quote
"...I am an artist who does not want to restore/If I have some fragment which is lovely to view from one side/I know to turn that side to the wall, like a jealous man/He who actually sees, sees only what he is without/knows, that however he asks the model to alter her pose/he'll paint only what is missing, perhaps a light that is gone/Displeased he lays the picture on the heap, begins another/The picture decays, if he paints over he'll see a void..."
